Why We’re Building a People Search AI Agent (Part 1)
Connecting with the right people is hard. We’re on a mission to change that.
Finding the right person – whether it’s a potential customer, a business partner, a subject matter expert, or an influencer – has always been a daunting challenge. You might spend hours sifting through LinkedIn or specialized databases, send dozens of cold emails, and still come up empty-handed. As a small startup team, we felt this pain firsthand: the endless research, the spreadsheet of leads, the manual outreach with painfully low response rates. It was frustrating and inefficient. We asked ourselves, “In an era of self-driving cars andAIwriting code, why are we still finding contacts like it’s 2010?”
This question led us to a bold idea – what if anAIcould do the tedious work of finding and reaching out to people for us? Today, we’re excited to share our answer: a People Search AI Agent designed to be your tireless assistant for discovering and connecting with the people who matter for your goals. We built this agent not just because we could, but because we believe there’s a better way to build professional relationships in the modern age. In this first blog post, we want to talk about why we embarked on this journey, what makes our approach different, and where we envision the future of networking and outreach.

The Pain of Finding People Today
If you’ve ever tried to build a sales pipeline, fill an opening, or partner with an influencer, you know how broken the process can be. The status quo relies on apatchworkof tools and a lot of manual effort: buying access to databases of contacts, crafting boolean search queries, combing through social media, and then sending out generic messages that often get ignored. The whole process is time-consuming, expensive, and often frustratingly ineffective.
Let’s break down a typical “finding people” task. Say you want to reach potential clients for a new B2B product. You might start with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or Crunchbase to get lists of companies and contacts. Then you filter by some criteria (industry, job title, company size) – but these tools give you too many results, many of which aren’t actually relevant. Next you export a list of emails (hoping they’re not outdated), import them into an email tool, write a bland mail merge template, and hit send. Rinse and repeat. It’s no wonder that salespeople spend only about one-third of their time actually selling – the rest is swallowed by prospecting, data entry, and outreach. And for many small businesses and startup founders, the barrier to even get those quality lists is high: enterprise databases charge hefty annual fees and expect you to do the work yourself with their data.
The problem goes beyond sales. Marketers struggle to find the right influencers for campaigns without using multiple platforms. Recruiters and consultants spend evenings hunting for candidate profiles across job boards, GitHub, or Twitter. In all these cases, existing solutions give you data – but not necessarily results. You get a list of names, but the connecting is still on you. And unless you have a big team or budget, it’s easy to hit a wall.
A New Approach, Powered byAI
So why now? In a word: AI.
Recent advances in large language models and agentic AI open a fundamentally new way to tackle this problem: not just serving you data, but acting on it.
- Understanding goals: Foundation models like GPT-5 can parse vague instructions into precise search criteria.
- Tapping rich data: APIs and public sources have exploded — the information is out there, if you can gather and interpret it.
- Multi-agent architectures: Specialized AI agents can work together like a team — one searches, one verifies, one writes outreach, all coordinated by a supervising agent.
Crucially, AI agents don’t just dump a list on your desk. They aim to deliver outcomes. Traditional SaaS sold you a fishing rod; an AI agent can hand you the basket of fish.
Where This Leads
This shift also unlocks new business models. Instead of pricey annual licenses, you could pay only for results — a qualified lead, a meeting set up, a partnership confirmed. For the first time, powerful capabilities become accessible to individuals and small businesses, not just enterprises with big budgets.
All of this points to a simple truth: the time is right for anAIagent that doesn’t just give you names, but delivers actual connections.
